3 Second review: The Conjuring

The Conjuring ★★★.5  (Directed by James Wan)

Western horror cinema has suffered from a bad case of constipation lately.

Backed up by teen focused splatter films, with just a trickle of grown up indie fare making it past the stinky backlog, it seemed like the genre – at least as far as mainstream – couldn’t loosen up and get going again.

But then along comes the horror enema you’ve been waiting for to scare the ever-loving … out of you.

Cobbling together every horrifying moment in horror films you ever loved, the Conjuring is a stone cold fright-fest of delight.
