I’ve really gone and done it this time… I’ve made a podcast.
What’s that you say? Surely the world gets enough of my over sharing from the sheer volume of op eds I write?
Maybe, you cheeky get. But podding (Podising? Podderating?) is something I’ve been dying to do for years. In fact, I talked about it pretty much every day. But, classic me, I couldn’t get it together until I started collaborating with someone smarter, cooler and way more knowledgeable than me, namely my colleague and pal: Emily Brookes, senior reporter for Entertainment Stuff and all round good egg.
Emily came to Stuff from TV land, so she’s got all sorts of expert knowledge about the industry. She’s also a massive fangirl, just like me so we hit it off.

We sat down and hatched a plan to get podding and result is Off Script, a podcast that was almost called “Bloodsport”, for reasons that will become increasingly clear to listeners.
Have a look at the excellent blurb Emily wrote for Episode 1: We’ve Had Enough of Old, White, Catholic Dudes:
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s a winter wonderland! (If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere.) The lights have been hung, the new fancy clothes have been donned, the gifts have been… donated by luxury brands. IT’S AWARDS SEASON!
“On this week’s podcast we discuss the first major Hollywood event thereof, the Golden Globes, which delivered a few surprises, and the lily-white Bafta nominations.
“Then we distill that data, add a splash of our own opinions, and cook up our predictions for Monday’s Oscar nominations announcement.
“Can Marriage Story pick up nods in every acting category? Will the rest of the world realise that Joker is not really that good? Is there any point showing up for Best Actress if your name doesn’t rhyme with Shemnae Shellweger? Are we in for yet another sausage fest?
“Join us on Off Script as we ask, and attempt to answer, these questions and more.”
So what do you think? Pretty cool huh? We want to hear from you, we want to know what you want to hear us discuss, who we should try to get on the show and what you think about what we think about the pop culture stuff we love.
So you know what to do: hop over to our Facebook or Twitter, like and follow for updates and a chance to argue with Emily and I, head over to Anchor, where our show is hosted, and hit the RSS, or check us out on Spotify or Pocket Casts. We look forward to getting in you ears.
